If it is not one thing. . . it is another. So back on August 5th, Carlie went for her 6 year check up. Everything was great except she didn't do very well on the eye exam part. Dr. F said that I should take her to an eye doctor and have her eyes checked by them, since they really only do the generic eye exam at their office. So I made an appointment thinking that she will probably have to get glasses to wear when she is in class or to watch t.v.
So we went to the eye doctor and after them dialating her eyes and doing a very thorough exam, we were told that she had to in fact get glasses. But not for the reason that I was originally thinking. I had no idea but Carlie is only seeing pretty much out of one eye! Apparantly she has a problem focusing with both of her eyes at the same time. So therefore they are starting to turn in. This is because when she has to focus far away she has to struggle, and when she has to focus close she has to struggle as well. Then when she gets tired of doing this she just will look out of one eye. The problem with this is, the eye that is not being used loses muscle and starts to get LAZY. Therefore they aren't working together. SOOOOO she has to wear the glasses all the time and most likely by the time she is 11, 12, or 13 her eyes will be strong and straight! So we are so glad that it was caught now. Thanks to Dr. F. I just love him! He is so on top of it all.
